Yesterday we shot the video for the Tone Up Challenge in NYC! The challenge is a 2 week program created by Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel and the Women’s Sports Foundation to promote a healthy lifestyle for women by encouraging exercise and excellent skincare.
I’m VERY excited to be working with both organizations. The Women’s Sports Foundation was founded by Billie Jean King in the 70s with the mission of advancing the lives of girls and women through exercise. They’ve done so much it’s hard to even summarize–basically if you’re a female, or know a female, that has ever participated in, watched, or been inspired by atheletics, you can thank them in large part.
Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Toner is a family owned brand that has been on the market for generations. It’s all natural, which is really important to me, as is the fact that it works so well! I’m loving the free samples they’ve sent–the toner removes all the gross stuff (my technical terminology, not there’s) but doesn’t overdry your skin. There is both a liquid version as well as towelettes (my fave!) for throwing into your car and/or gym workouts, which I like to have on hand in between workouts.
While I LOVE the sport of triathlon and Ironman racing, I don’t think that this sort of undertaking is necessary to be active and healthy. The Tone Up Challenge is a program that anyone can do because it starts off very gradually. I believe in initially setting small goals so that you reach them and keep going. You never know where those first small steps will take you! I certainly didn’t know that I would eventually end up racing Ironmans when I went on that first 2 mile walk/run! Whether you’re just starting an exercise program or are an accomplished athlete, who doesn’t want a more toned body and skin?
